Oct 10th Willy Walk-In for public education

Who is involved?
Parents, students, teachers and education workers are registering their schools and joining this action to have participation at every school in Ontario!

Where?
We will meet at 8 am at Queen and Wineva, just outside Juice and Java – snacks and coffee will be served (BYO cup).

Why are we walking-in?
As the 2019/2020 school year begins, the real impacts of the cuts to the education system are becoming clear:
● Not enough education assistants to support children with special needs and ensure all students have the supports they need to thrive.
● Cuts to custodial staff resulting in classroom closures and unsafe building conditions
● Schools going without enough office administrative staff
● Not enough psychologists, child and youth workers, or social workers to nurture kids in need of support.
● Crowded high school classrooms with reports from students, families and teachers of classrooms with as many as 46 students, as a result of teacher layoffs.
● Reduced access to courses for high school students; Fewer choices, too many spares, students unable to graduate on time due to course cancellations.
